Humanity UNESCO 2001 |
|
Duration:
16 hrs.
Commences: La Paz
Only one day in the year!!!! Saturday 24Th, February 2006
Program Description:
Full Day Tour Early in the
morning we leave to Oruro. Arrive Oruro , taking about 20 minutes
to get our seats at the Main Square, this is the best place to
be because all the Government representatives are watching the
Carnival from this zone. We ask all to bring warm clothing, umbrella.
Please bring another set of clothes just in case, (people play
with water). You will enjoy only once in the year the most beautiful
folkloric expression, music, colors, dancers and happiness. We
return to La Paz the same evening, arriving approx. at 22:30
hrs.
The maximum expression of Bolivian Folklore is the Carnival of
Oruro, Festivity that we enjoy once a year. 30.000 dancers of
different folkloric groups express their devotion to the Virgin
of the Socavon. This great display of music, dance, color, spirit
and religious character make this carnival unique in the world,
that is why UNESCO in 2001 recognized it as The Master Piece
of the Intangigle Patrimony for Humanity”. Within the participating
groups we’ll see artistic expressions such as: Tobas, Morenada,
Tinkus, Caporales and the most ancient and outstanding “La
Tradicional Diablada” which is the interpretation between
Good and Evil.
Note: We
highly recommend an organized tour to participate in this parade.
